Scotland: Tax identification number:

Gentlemen, My bank sent me a letter requesting information about my tax residence. I am a tax resident in scotland, but they require some misterious TIN. Does anyone know how to get one? HMRC site says that it is for self assesors. I am full time employed, so my employer withholds the outrageous amounts every month. Thank you. It was a wonderful year so far my first in Glasgow ;)

Scotland: Chicken or egg?:

I will be moving to Glasgow beginning next year. My daughter is to start primary school on 15th of August. The question is: Do I first select a place to live in a nice neighborhood and then look for a school or better I pick up good primary school and then select a home in this school's catchment area? Thank you.
