Bolivia: Bolivian Protests?:

Just returned to Canada after one month family/tourist visit to Santa Cruz & Tarija Departments. Coming back to check out Samipata in 2016 with a view to retiring there. Family members are farming in the San Ramon area of Santa Cruz Department. Lots of interaction with Bolivian citizens especially in the Municipality of San Julian market. That experience was a positive one. I was in Santa Cruz de la Sierra in November 2016 and observed two (2) political demonstrations at the 24 Septembre Plaza - all peaceful. I am told that property crime is high but crimes of violence are not. Hope that helps.
