Dominica: British expat murdered in Dominica:

I talked to one of my friends in the island and told me about a 51 year old british woman who was killed in Calibishie while taking an afternoon stroll. What a sad sad news. If anyone here knew her well I offer my condolencies to her friends and family. This concerns all of us. I am planning on returning permanently to stay this june. I am looking for land to start my own business and was considering Calibishie. Last year locals told me it was becoming more and more dangerous there. I am starting to believe they were right? Or do you think this is an isolated incident? Greetings to all! DO

I would definitely go to the northeast of the island. Marigot Wesley or even better Calibishie. You are 40 minutes drive from Portsmouth which is the second biggest town in the island after Roseau and it also has Ross University and a lot of "westerly" vibe with restaurants and bars similiar to some of the states. Calibishie has great beaches nearby and the green is all around when you are on the east part of the island. Hope it helps!!

Dominica: Citizenship for USA resident:

Just to clarify that Belize is part of the central american continent and not part of south america. Having said that, I would have expected more knowledge and less prejudice to a beautiful continent like south america in an expat forum...
