I would be careful when booking with Airbnb. There are very mixed reviews. My experience with them is not very good. Basically if there are any issues (anything beyond the simple finding a place, paying and staying there) they are horrible. They are very difficult to contact directly and are not very responsive and resolution is very hard to come by. At least that was my experience and I will never use them again.

Mexico: passport name change:

I need to change my name. I am wondering if I can use my passport card with old name while I send off my passport book and have the name changed. This way I wouldn't be without a passport. I called the US passport office but they didn't know and said I should just fill out the form, send in the book with a note and see what happens. Sounds like it wouldn't work, but thought I'd ask... Gracias

Mexico: Driving Baja and buying car:

I have decided I'd like to drive the length of Baja. I like the idea of staying in the love motels. Are there any maps or websites that show the location of those so I can plan and plot ahead? If not, I'll just look on the outskirts of town when driving around. Also, going to sell my car and buy an inexpensive little Mexican sedan to drive around Baja. Any suggestions on what kind of car is best? Something that is easy for the mecánicos to work on, reliable and inexpensive to upkeep etc. Probably looking to buy a car in a month or two... Gracias

Sounds frustrating. Have you asked your vet or other vets in your area? My vet has been great about knowing information about traveling with my cat to various countries. Just a thought.
