Panama: Purchasing Property in Panama:

@Anissa: before you do anything, please do your due diligence! A couple of people have replied : "Don't buy anything! Rent first!" This advice is not just 100% sound; it's 150% accurate. You obviously haven't researched this topic online, before posting here. (a) Use the "Search" function on this forum, to find answers from hundreds of other posts, related to "purchasing property in Panama" (b) There's always Google, which will give you several more links, also regarding the issue of buying anything in Panama On every one of those links, you will find the same thing: advice from expats who know better, and who will tell you to NOT buy any property in Panama --- at least until you have lived here for a while first.

Panama: Non-US residents, visitors/tourists, etc........any problems at the borders?:

@Lamastus and @Glockdiver: Hahahahahaha ))))) Thanks for making me laugh. Normally, I would shove your responses into my garbage-can, But, since you seem to be so misinformed about your own country, allow me to enlighten you: YES, your president is a retarded donkey. And the fact that someone like that could ever become president of a country is testament to the mental capacity of its citizens (..........by which I mean YOU) the US is the butt of every joke in existence now. Your country is the laughing stock of every other country on the planet. Everyone out there --- NOT just Canadians --- thinks that you are a ridiculous. I understand your frustrations. And the reasons for your sense of hopelessness :=))))))))))) But.............er.............it's not MY fault :=)))) So, once again; thanks for the humor. And, now, kindly exit my post. My question is intended for a specific group of individuals (which I clearly stated)

Panama: Second-hand paperback books/novels ?:

Greetings. Does anyone have second-hand paperback books/novels that they'd like to sell off, or give away? Fiction only. I like all genres : detective, thriller, espionage, drama, etc, etc. I'm in PTY Gracias :)

Panama: Heat-rash ?:

Hola amigos. Anyone ever had an issue with heat-rash? I've been spending quite a bit of time out in the sun lately, and as a result, I got some rash around my neck and shoulder area. It itches like an SOB (lol) I got some sunscreen today, but that's for the future. Before I use it, I kinda need to take care of the itching first. Anyone know of any medication I should ask the pharmacist for? Gracias

Panama: Checking the title on a used car:

Buenas noches a todos! I'm looking to buy a used car. I've read all the posts here pertaining to buying cars in Panama --- from dealers, or private individuals..............the things to watch out for, and take into consideration............insurance............etc, etc I already made up my mind to get one from a dealer, as it's safer and less hassle, albeit more expensive. However, I found a really good one, being sold by a guy here in PTY. Yesterday, I went to see the car; I took along my mechanic (a friend of mine), who inspected the car, and found it to be in excellent shape. I also inspected the paperwork, and all seems in order. So, I only have one question: regarding the title itself. Before I buy, I want to check the title, to ensure there are no outstanding fees, fines, etc, etc. I asked the seller, and, to my surprise, he said he doesn't know where this can be done. (Weird) I assumed that it should be done in the Munincipio. Am I right? Gracias

Panama: moving to Panama in 2 weeks!:

@smilemoreoften: there is no Catch-22 involved. As everyone here has told you, you need a return-ticket (or, at least, an onward ticket), if you plan to set foot in Panama. It's a case of "Better safe than sorry". Some people here have already suggested ways you can take care of an onward ticket, so that you don't find yourself standing at the airport, with all your luggage, and being told to turn around, and go back home!

Panama: Panama's Banking Interest Rates:

Buenas noches, amigos. Quick question for those of you who have bank accounts here in Panama : what interest rates do your banks give you, on Savings and/or Deposits? I became interested after conversing with someone from another thread here (regarding banking info). The bank I use offers me 3%. Until now, I thought this was a good rate; but, after doing some online research, it turns out 3% is rather crappy, at least for banks in Panama. I found this link on Google : http://panama.deposits.org It doesn't say much; but it does state a rate of over 3% for a few of Panama's banks. Unfortunately, I was unable to find more useful info online (bank interest rates are public information; so, I'm not sure why I can't find anything more). So, I'm interested in the rates offered by other banks here. If you're not comfortable sharing that info on a public forum (although, it's not exactly private info, anyway)..........feel free to simply send me a PM. I just want to know which banks in Panama offer the best rates on Savings and Deposits Gracias

Panama: Bank Info:

@Capt: I just sent you a PM
