Global Expat Forum: Expats help!!:
I am a 35 year old single American female in need of any culture other than America. I have some career college and I currently work in embroidery in the states. I am an artist/potter and would love to do my work and live off that but as we all know most artists ARE starving so.... I love the ocean and would like to have a slower more laid-back lifestyle. I am currently learning French and I know a little Spanish. I thought about going into the TEFL thing but from what I've read online a job might be harder to find since I don't have an Bachelor's degree. Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions for where a good place would be all things considered??
France: Artist thinking of the south of France:
I am currently learning French and have been researching cities around Nice (where's a good place?). I love the ocean and would like to have a calm slower lifestyle. I read that its hard for an American to find work in France though and also that it is difficult to extend the usual 90 day stay. I am an artist/potter and would love to paint and sell my wares locally, but I probably wouldn't be able to make enough to live off with that alone. Any thoughts or advise on this would be helpful.
Nicaragua: TEFL:
I have recently been reading up on teaching jobs for English speakers. I read about TEFL TESOL I don't have a college degree but I read Nicaragua doesn't require you to have one as long as you are certified TEFL and native English speakers. There is a school I read about in Leon that gives you the certification. Does anyone have any knowledge on this matter?
