Sri Lanka: VISA ERROR:

Hi, to be honest they may not notice, but there are officials at the airport who look very closely, so luck of the draw. If it is picked up i would think the worst that could happen is you have to buy visa on arrival. So, in other words pay again, but we have travelled several times, and nobody has checked our visa print outs, just ran the passport through the computer reader. Be interested to find if you get through ok.

Sri Lanka: Weekly Budget:

Hiya, In response to your question. When we were in SL earlier this year, before the sterling drop we were spending :- About £200 on rent a month. £30 on food shopping a week. each meal out would be about £15.00 for two inc a couple of beers. Obviously then you've also got daily expenses depending on what you're doing. Entrance to the local hotel for swimming etc about £5 per couple. If there is anything you would like to know in particular please contact me. We are returning in a couple of weeks, and expect to pay more because of the exchange rate.

Sri Lanka: Living Cost:

Hi, With regards your query for living costs in Sri Lanka. It is pretty much the same as any other place, depends on how you plan to live. Colombo is more expensive than other areas of the country, as you would expect. Rents for a decent place are anything from 40,000 SLR pcm upwards depending on what you are looking for. A meal out in a restaurant with drinks in Colombo would be from 2000 SLR per person, although you can in eat shorts bar or similar for much less. Food shopping as pretty much the same cost as in the UK, again dependant on what you buy. Some things much cheaper if not imported.

Sri Lanka: Visa more than 6 months:

Good morning, I can answer your question regards visa more than 3 months. You cannot get a tourist visa for longer than 3 months from outside the country. I assume you are going as a tourist? You have to re-apply at the visa office in Colombo before your 3 month visa expires.

Sri Lanka: Advice in getting a second three month visa:

Hi, I can help you with your enquiry. We have done this for several years now. You have to fill in the downloadable app the same as your first 3 months, then go to the visa office. the cost is the same as your first 3 months with tax on top. It tells you on immigration website exact figures. They may ask to see your ticket back out of the country, or proof of funds to cover your trip, or evidence of your expenditure so far. We normally take everything, to save a trip back. We have only had an issue on one occaission, but we have got a lot of stamps in our passports from previous years. Think they just wanted to double check we wern't working, everything was fine when we went back. Hope this helps, happy to answer any questions.
