Belgium: Moving to Belgium:

I live in India for the moment, being a belgian and I must say the cost of living in Belgium is of course much much higher than India (for food, and so on NOT for high tech). But being an expat I presume you will receive a salary based on Belgian consumary and it will be high enough to have a wealthy live. (if you come based on an indian salary you won't get very far). Depending in which part of belgium you will be, you will need a car (driving politly is a must, following the rules... not driving as an indian :-))In brussel the public transport is good, much better than in Antwerp for example, but comparing to india they still have to learn a lot. But in brussel a car is not a must in the beginning, having very few car parkings and so on... In Belgium it is in most of the big companies normal to receive a company car, so I would for sure ask for that, because leasing will end up very costly. Staying in Belgium means as well being in Europe and being able to move from one country to another very easily!, which is a very interesting fact! in 1 hour you are already in France, The Netherlands, Germany,... Belgium is a nice country to live in,people will always help you in english (certainly in the dutchspeaking part of Belgium) which cannot always been said in India. On the other hand, living like an indian with a maid and cook, will be very expensive in Belgium! But you won't need that at all. It is a totaly different experience, and having done the opposite, I would certainly recommend you to do this experience! Hi!! My boyfriend and I are from Belgium and are moving end of october to Pune for 1.5 year :) we are really looking forward to it! It would be nice to have some more information about the country, some tips & tricks and especially more info about renting a house/appartement in Pune, because that will be the first thing to do arriving in Pune!
