Micronesia: Expat in Pohnpei?:

My husband and I are considering going to Pohnpei (Kolonia) for him to work in a US government position. I would like to know if anyone has had a similar experience, or if they can tell me more about this beautiful island. My husband has worked overseas before in developing nations, so I have some idea of what to expect; however, I would love to learn more about the culture, the people, and the opportunities for American expats over there. I am an experienced HS teacher and would be interested in volunteer work, and would also like to know about family-oriented things to do for fun. I would also like to know about housing opportunities (I dont expect American-style accommodations.) Can anyone out there give advice? If so, thanks in advance! Wendy
