Some Forum Posts:

Colombia: Truck Taxis:

Anyone know how to order these? I've seen white truck taxis (usually open bed Renault Dusters) before, but never paid attention to figure out where to find or order them. In my case I'm in Medellin and need to move some furniture and luggage.

Ecuador Welcome Forum: Alternative to Google Maps?:

What's the best map smartphone app for Ecuador? Having recently arrived to visit Cuenca I realize that Google Maps is pretty useless and won't find most addresses they way they are written by Ecuadorians. Also, what does the xx-yy mean in Ecuadorian addresses? For example "Av. de las Américas 7-02".

Ecuador Welcome Forum: A few days in Quito:

Visiting Quito for several days this month, plan to get a hotel or AirBNB a place. What are the best regions of the city to choose in terms of touristic location and safety?

Ecuador Welcome Forum: Coast between Posorja and Salinas:

What is this area like? Googlemaps seems to show a lot of beaches, but not much development. Has anyone on the Forum lived on or visited the coast north of Posorja and have any words of wisdom?

Colombia: Hearing Aids:

Anyone have experience in getting replacement hearing aids in Colombia and have suggested clinics or providers? I'm in Medellin, but all suggestions welcome.

Colombia: Traveling to US tomorrow and TAXES?:

Anyone know if there are taxes or fees or other surprises at land crossings? Planning on going to Ecuador by car in August, crossing at Ipiales/Tulcan.

Colombia: Foreign Idiots:

Uh oh. Should we brace for an invasion? http://colombiareports.com/court-dumps-old-law-banning-foreign-cretins-colombia/

Colombia: Craving for Hummus:

Definitely a long shot and possibly a hopelessly dumb question, but has anyone found a Colombian supermarket that carries hummus? Gorbanzo beans and chick peas easy enough to find, but falafel won't be falafel without hummus....

Colombia: Spanish Language Schools in Medellin:

We're a family with kids looking at places to study intensive Spanish in south Medellin and found some schools in Envigado which I like because it's further south than Poblado and hence more "local". The schools are ciespanishschool.com, eldorado.cc, and colombiaimmersion.com. Anyone have any knowledge/experience/advice concerning these or other places to study Spanish in south Medellin?

Colombia: LIVING IN PEREIRA:

What about schools/high schools in Pereira and/or Armenia? Any decent bilingual options?
