Bulgaria: Binging possessions to Bulgaria:

Hi I'd like to enquire what is the best way to bring personal possessions to Bulgaria. I'm in Plovdiv and plan to return to the UK 8/9/16 and would like to bring some boxes back. I don't have a vehicle, has anyone done this or is about to and would share space/costs? I did consider buying a small van but apparently you'll be taxed!

Bulgaria: Arrived:

Hi, arrived in Bulgaria, spent couple of days in Sofia and heading to VT this Suñday 19th. Staying 10 days and looking for property, ànyone interested in meeting up for coffee drop me a line, I'd appreciate insight.

Bulgaria: Eco off grid living close to varna:

Hi Shinobidef, I'm presently in Veliko Tarnovo and leave next Wednesday 29th June, taking a bus to Varna. I'd be interested in meeting up with you as I too have ambition to work towards self a sufficiency. It would be good to discuss possibilities- drop me a line! Nick

Bulgaria: Medical Insurance?:

Hi I may be jumping the gun here, but can anybody advise me as to, when interested in applying as an EU member for a long stay certificate do you have to prove you have medical insurance for the 5 year certificate period and if so, does it have to be insurance from your home EU country or can you use/ find cheaper insurance elsewhere BG for instance? At the moment Cigna looks expensive for five years! Appreciate any feedback

Bulgaria: Obtaining long-term residence:

Hi, I'm 53, a UK citzen who has lived out of the UK for 13yrs. I am extremely interested in coming to Bulgaria and looking at a lifestyle choice (new beginning). However, I am a bit confused as to what I need to do to secure a long- term residency. Some websites state 'Residence Certificate' with expectancies being - Employed/self employed. Financial resources/medical to cover expenses. Enrolled in study. Others mention D Type Visa. I have some savings which if managed will cover house purchase and surviving until I'm 60 if all goes well, then I can access a small pension form Australia at 60. Another part of application, this time for permanence, requires National Insurance contributions proof, which does not exist in Australia. Any advice would be much appreciated. Regards Nick

Bulgaria: If you are coming to Bulgaria!:

Hi Ian, its refreshing to hear what appears to be an honest account. I have not been to Bulgaria but I am interested and visiting in March/April 2016. I am presently in AU but originally from the UK and if Bulgaria offers a lifestyle chance that I can work towards I'd like to stay. My idea is to purchase property, become more self- sufficient, integrate and use savings and a small pension accessible at 60 from AU. I'm 53, so 7 yrs to go, will I be able to meet the Pensioner D-type requirement? I'd appreciate your feedback and knowledge. Regards Bianchi
