Guatemala: What is the min monthly income to be a pensionado in Guatemala?:
I heard from two people that it is $500 per month but that seems too low for their pensionado requirement.
If anyone knows, please let me know...thanks in advance.
Peru: Where are the expats in Peru??:
I know this topic has been done before, but I can tell you that Peru is a wonderful country with friendly people, low cost and delicious food.
For some strange reason, this country has been ignored by the USA/Canada/Euro expats. My question is why and will this ever change.
Costa Rica: $1300 USD in Costa Rica:
That other thread is right, you are a lucky dog.I live in Lima Peru and you can really do well on $800 per month.
What is nice about Lima,it is a large city full of things to do but without all the penisionados here...so the cost here is much lower than Costa Rica.
Just a suggestion.
Uruguay: cost of living:
I wish someone would answer your good question.
I hear that Uruguay is the only first world country with very super low cost of living....
Please any expats in Uruguay...what is the basic cost per month to live near the capital?
Colombia: Retire in Colombia:
With all due respect, why in the world would you retire in Colombia?
It is getting WORSE with the FARC rebels.
I really dont think the the Colombian govt has a pensionado visa program.
Look at Panama Costa Rica Peru etc...but Colombia??
Peru: Meeting expats in Lima:
As a former New Yorker and living in Lima Peru,I can tell you from the few posts, there are not too many expats living here compared to Panama Mexico Ecuador and Costa Rica.
Why I don't know.
Colombia: marriage agencies in colombia:
With all due respect to marriage agencies, they are a waste of time and cost too much.
I found my future wife (Peruvian) through a website that place personal ads for single men in different countries in Latin america.
This way, many girls will write you and then you can select based on what you are looking for.
If you want more info, please write me at thomasgriffinusa@yahoo.com
I hope this helps,
Thomas
Peru: Health Insurance:
I know this post was sometime ago but you are asking the question in reverase....you have to ask Atena if you are covered overseas in Peru, don't ask Peru if they accept Atena...
Argentina: Argentine "Residency" the Easy & Cheap Way:
This is a good method but in some countries, like Ecuador don't allow repeat entries year after year.In Ecuador, you are permitted up to 180 days PER YEAR.
The nice thing about living in BA is that Urguary is not so far to make the trip.
I live in Lima Peru and would have travel 18 hours by bus to get to the boarder of Ecuador to go through this tourist card method.
Colombia: Looking for work in Colombia:
To repeat to the other post....why would really relocate in Colombia.
Being that you are an educated project manager and a foreigner makes you a prime object to be kidnapped by the FARC rebels. The situation has been getting WORSE not better. If you watch CNN en espanol they show (each week) the current foreigners being held by the FARC.
Really, put your skills and talent towards another country....take my advice.
