Saudi Arabia: can somebody give advice:

I am an Orlando resident leaving to Saudi for a good job within a couple of weeks and my spouse will join in a few months. I know a lot of families that live there and here is the bottom line, as we see it anyway: In the compound, basically a subdivision, you can dress however you like. They have swimming pools all over the place, tennis courts and spas and they don't expect you to play and swim with your jeans on. When you step outside the compound, women have to wear a abaya to cover self, not the head and face...thankfully. Women cannot drive, but when you have 24 hour limo service from the compound plus all the traffic and parking problems...who wants to. Oh yeah. No alcohol. Yep, none. But go ahead and be open minded and you'll be fine. Actually, you will be surprised of how fine you'll be. Good Luck

Saudi Arabia: US expats in Saudi Arabia:

Hey Brit, Hope you read this message. We are an American couple moving to Jeddah soon for a job. Any idea of how we can follow the NFL games. Thanks

Jordan: mooving to amman:

Hello Souad, Amman is a nice place. I know, I 've been there many times. I actually went to school there. The best place to live is in Jebel Amman, between the third and and the fifth circle. A circle is basically a round-about that seperates neighborhoods. As far schools; Bishop High School is one. De La Salle is another. They are both excellent. The people are very friendly, society is liberal, and the food is great! As far as meeting English speaking people, it is not a problem. Mostly all speak English. Have no worries, you will like it! Good Luck

Saudi Arabia: Move to Al Khobar:

Hello Cauny, My wife and I are American citizens also from your neck of the woods (Orlando). I will be moving to Jeddah pretty soon and my wife will follow in a few months. Maybe we'll meet there and watch some NFL, hopefully it is available. Good luck to you
