Ecuador Welcome Forum: Parasites:

Just curious how you guys take a handle on the parasite situation in Ecuador? Use bottled water only for drinking and being in certain foods they still get into the body. I've read that getting the test once a year (normally positive) followed by meds will treat and get rid of the boogers but that eggs are also left behind? I'll be retiring there within the next year and wondering how everyone handles the problem. Thx!

Ecuador: Many RVs or converted buses in Ecuador?:

Homing in a tent for a period of time or even a converted bus = very easy prey for the wild and no not the animal types. With hostals being a cheap as they are why take the risk?

Ecuador Welcome Forum: Taxes in Ecuador:

China seems to have it's hands in most countries pockets. China owned $1.3 trillion of U.S. Treasuries as of June, making it the biggest holder of U.S. debt. Chinese investors bought as much as $1 billion of ruble debt this year and Russia counts on them purchasing more as the country heads for its widest budget deficit in five years. Bonds rose the most in four weeks. The Chinese bought from 50 billion to 60 billion rubles ($877 billion to $1.1 billion) of local-currency bonds, Is there a country not in debt to China?

Ecuador: Aspirin in Ecuador:

That went into effect a couple of weeks ago due to the need of earthquake victims from what I've read. I would think it will go back to the over the counter when there is not such a huge demand.

Do Google searches first about anything you need to find out. It will narrow down questions a lot.

Ecuador: Moving Advice:

Here you go remoore2001, using a Coconut shell possible? You betcha! A lot of research has been carried out in the area of development of asbestos-free brake pads. Coconut shell and palm kernel shell (PKS) have been used in the development of asbestos free brake pad materials (Dagwa, 2005, Dagwa and Ibhadode, 2005 and Aigbodion and Akadike, 2010).
