Panama: moving to Panama in 2 weeks!:
you definitely need a ticket out of panama (and it has to be within 90 days). it can be a bus or plane ticket anywhere else but it has to be out of panama. if you're planning on buying and then cancelling, make sure you purchase and cancel within 24 hours of your flight since most airlines give you only 24 hours to cancel with a full refund
Panama: Therapist in Panama City:
Hi all,
I'm looking for a therapist in the city (just someone to talk to about personal problems). Anyone aware of any? Preferably someone who speaks fluent English. Thank you.
Panama: Apple iPhone coverage:
I have an iphone and use Tmobile. Tmobile allows use internationally free. You can text and get unlimited data. However, calls are 20cents a minute. But for calls, you would just use whatsapp so it shouldnt cost anything extra.
Panama: Tipping!:
Tipping here is accepted and appreciated. Restaurants generally accept a 10% tip. Some include the tip within the bill so its automatically included in the total, but many establishments are getting away from doing that.
Panama: For anyone who has gone through the visa process already...:
I came to Panama on a tourist visa (like many others) and have been living here a few months. I am about ready to get started on my visa process and was wondering if anyone did the whole application process while living here (rather than in their home country)? Any tips and advice of where to go to get your background check, and other documents completed would be helpful.
Panama: MMA / Cage-fighting / etc, etc:
Hey! Not sure if this can help you much but I found an OfertaSimple for martial arts this morning. Maybe the school can point you in the right direction: https://ofertasimple.com/ofertas/panama/american-kenpo-tai-chi-trx-mafa-panama-12nov16-2p
Panama: Trump Won - I'm outta here!:
Does GPS work down there? Yes, download Waze. Google Maps also works if you have it.
I plan on renting a car for the month from PTY - is this a good idea or not? Determine that when you arrive. You may not need it the full time.
Can I just come down in Feb on my passport or do I have paperwork to fill out in advance? Passport is fine.
Are there restrictions on how much money I can bring in? Don't bring too much, there's a bunch of ATMs here.
I've hear a lot of restaurants mentioned, but do you have sushi bars? - sure hope so with all that excellent fresh fish there. Plenty!! A few of my favorites: Tataki, Tsugoi, but theres a bunch if you google Sushi in Panama
Do cell phones from here work down there without any type of changes or upgrades? Depends on the company you have. I have Tmobile and it works like a charm (free of charge)
Thanks in advance for any responses and thanks for skipping the politics. Regards, Tom
Panama: Afro Hairdressers Panama city:
Hey! I've been looking for this too but I realized most people with that texture of hair usually just have their hair done at home or by someone they know. I haven't came across any salons that specialize in this. There is a mobile beauty salon here that looks like they specialize in afro textures. Try this out: http://dazzlesalon.weebly.com/services.html
