Ireland: Expat / EU Taxes:
Hello, I am a U.S. citizen in the process of confirming and obtaining dual citizenship from Poland. My goal is to move to Ireland and seek employment under my Polish Passport.
My question concerns how taxes are handled between EU nations. I have read quite a bit and it looks like I would only pay taxes in the country I reside and work in due to tax treaties, is that correct for Ireland?
If I keep bank accounts/investments in the U.S. would I have to claim interest income in Ireland while I am living there?
I think I will also have to file in the U.S. too since they do not recognize dual citizenship and tax all income earned anywhere.
Thanks for the help. Trying to get all my information on the front end. -CJH
Poland: Certifying Polish Citizenship:
Hello,
I am new here, beginning some research on obtaining Polish citizenship through my grandfather who lived in Poland and fought in Poland military.
Regarding this, I am posting to ask if anyone has utilized the services of Roman Wisniewski in Warsaw? His website, https://polishcitizenship.pl/ , is very well stated, but in discussions with him, I found out he is a consultant and not an attorney. Would this effect anything? He seems very knowledgeable and asks for payment only after citizenship is confirmed.
I am hoping someone has utilized his service and had a positive interaction they would be willing to share. I do not want to get ripped off or have my documents/certificate held for ransom.
Thanks,
CJH
