I'm curious what will happen to a famous person when caught with drugs?? A KILO??? that's not a user but a dealer...lets see if equal justice in the Philippines??? Actor Mark Anthony Fernandez tested positive for using marijuana but not for shabu, a GMA News report said. Philippines: Is it legal to import a TASER BOLT Stun Gun:

the best protection to carry outside the home is a big dog on a leash with a nasty growl.

Philippines: Driving in the Philippines:

Chuck 2:03 PM (0 minutes ago) to outgoing After spending one year here I just had to drive. Im American and we born to drive. I first bought a motor. No matter what city you are in a motor is the best way to get around, saving time and more efficient. It takes a little while to learn to drive like a Filipino. Driving within the law and courteously like back home will be soon forgotten. ( of course when going back home you have to re-program again haha.) Really no big deal to get Philippine driver license if you already have valid US. Dont see any traffic cops but plenty of checkpoints. Finally purchased car last year. Using a motor on trips outside of city gets little uncomfortable and somewhat dangerous because most truck, bus, and SUV drivers dont respect motorcycles. But driving car on highways and rural roads ok no problems. All in all I would recommend to any person living here to have their own transportation. Im 73 and been driving here over 5 years.

Philippines: How much are you really living on?:

hello Im a retired American living in the Philippines. I moved here because it was impossible to continue living in Miami on my SS of $1100.00 USD a month.. I have been here for 5 years and can say that my life here has been good with little or none 0f the problems I see written here. I live here in Northern Mindinao. Cagayan de oro. The city is not very big but is fairly modern and getting better every day. Anything I want or need can be found here at resonable cost. My monthly budget is 40,000 pesos. Rent, utilities, cable, internet, gasoline, gym and fare run about 10,000 monthly. You can live really good here and dont pay attention to all the negatives about Mindinao. I have my own car and motorcycle and can travel freely all around. I have no negative remarks and highly recommend anybody planning to live here to check out my city, Cagayan de Oro.

Philippines: safe?:

I have been here for almost 6 years. Never had a fence or wall Just locked up the house at night. One time somebody tried to break in my house but was chased away by my dog. I didnt even realize it till the next morning when I found the window broke and the door open. I heard the dog barking and then barking outside and then all the way down the street. The guy(s) had to leave in a real hurry; didnt know if he was bit. A medium or large dog in the house (with a loud bark) is your best protection. I dont know why but most Filipinos are afraid of dogs. When I walked my dog in the neighborhood people would cross the street rather than getting near the dog. He was always on leash but no matter they had a fear. Also when the neighbors know you have a dog in the house dont worry none will try to sneak in. Just treat your dog with kindness and respect and he will protect you and your house.

Philippines: License on tourist visa?:

you can drive on VALID foreign license. If you get stopped just tell them u will get Philippine license soon. It is not a problem to get a Philippine license if your foreign license is still valid. You dont have to be a permanent resident. You should take your ACR card if you have got it by now. Just take it and go local LTO office. They will give you the forms to fill out and you will get it there .

Philippines: Quick decision to move:

Hello I am American and have been living here in CDO almost 6 years now. I like this site because it gives me some help and advice. However Im sorry to complain that lately here has become a forum for a few boring individuals to argue politics and flame each other. I would hope some moderators of this site would try to bring back the main purpose this site was created for; mainly to discuss and help one another have a great life in the Philippines
