Mexico: Puerto Penasco apartment:

Hi, I'm a newbie here and just starting the research for part-time living near Rocky Point or Sonora MX. Looking to rent a place for each winter. Starting out, we are mindful of our budget, so looking to rent for $400 or less/month. Also, what is the availability of RV parks in the area?

Honduras: Thatched hut living:

You could check out the Sundancer Cabanas in Sandy Bay. Not exactly thatched roof, but they are rustic cabanas. There's one for sale in the community right now; see Roatan.net for this and other listings. I think someone just bought the community & they're setting it up as a vacation rental spot, but their new website isn't ready yet. They have a "contact us" link. Try Sundancercabanas.com to see it.

Honduras: Roatan longterm rentals:

Try: www.roatan.net You can email Steve on that site, and inquire about rentals, though I think most of his properties are for sale, and the rentals are vacation rentals. I have also searched for long-term rentals which resulted in a few other sites.

Honduras: Oakridge:

I am thinking of staying near Oakridge on my first exploratory trip to Roatán-- Jonesville Point, really. Anyone know the approximate distances from there (Jonesville Point Rd) to some sandy beach areas? The rental home is oceanfront, but also on a mangrove canal. It doesn't appear that there are beaches on that part of the south shore. Camp Bay is -- what? -- 45 minutes away? What about Sandy Bay? Any other areas closer to Oakridge? Thank you! Liz

Belize: Need help with long term monthly rental:

When you say your rental is "on the water " does this mean there is an accessible beach nearby? Or snorkeling areas? Does Corozal have publicly accessible beaches? Thank you for any information. I am trying to find a long-term rental that we can return to annually. Would like to be able to swim, snorkel, or sunbathe without a very long drive.

Belize: Caye Caulker:

Is your rental on AC available for long term, by the month?

Honduras: retire Roatan:

I see that this thread is a year old, but I hope I can still ask some questions. My hubby and I have just started the process of researching & I believe we are keeping Roatán at the top of our list. We are snorkel fanatics, I am big on hiking, love kayaking, and other outdoor things. Do t want to be anywhere near crocodiles or alligators. Not a big fan of oppressive humidity. Couple of random questions: 1. I see apartments for rent in Gibson Bight. Would this be a good base area for scouting things out? Where would I find reliable listings for rentals? (House or apartment) 2. What's the typical mode of transportation on Roatán? Is a car rental a necessity? What about bicycles, scooters, or golf carts? Public transportation or taxis? Thank you for any info that could steer us in proper directions.
