Guatemala: Anti-vax:

I will be traveling to Guate in the near future and don't want to get vaccines for any of us. Has anyone gone and not gotten anything and been fine? Our family is not known to get sick very often and when we do it is mild and doesn't last long. My 3rd is vaccine free and don't want to have her get any. We have a house in Jutiapa, where my husband's family lives. If anyone can help that would be great. No negativity please. This is my choice and I just want advice not an argument. Thank you

Guatemala: Family of 4 - cost of living:

That is exactly what I was thinking. A single man shouldn't be spending $3750/mth. Why not help the ppl there out instead of complaining or just leave. They didn't ask you to come there and talk down about them. Also why mention what you pay your maid? She should be getting paid more than that to work for someone like you. Just saying.

Guatemala: wondering if moving to Guatemala is the right choice for our family:

Hi, my name is Kara and i am a US citizen and my husband is from Guatemala and we have 2 boys 5 and 3 and a baby girl due in July. we already have a house there but we are not in the city. I was wondering if anyone had any info on moving to Asuncion Mita? my husband said it is about 3 hrs from Guat City. I have checked out a lot of topics and they are mostly about Lake Atitlan, Panajachel, Antigua, and Guat City. I have never been there and have come to the conclusion that I need to make a trip before I make a decision to move there. I want to know if anyone has any info on that part of the country? Schools for the kids, medical care for them as well. Thanks for any info you can share with me.

Guatemala: Considering relocating to Guatemala:

Hi JennyBeba, thanks for asking this question, my husband is from Guatemala and I am considering moving there with him and my 2 boys and a baby girl when she gets here. I have never been but I would definitely say check it out before you make a decision. I want to make a trip in December for a couple of weeks. my husbands mom lives 3 hrs from Guatemala City in Jutiapa. I know the basics of spanish but I am not fluent and neither are my kids.
