United States: South Carolina and Georgia:
Any British or Anglophiles looking to connect in South Carolina (Beaufort County) or Georgia (Savannah)?
United States: Westchester teens, no dramas!:
Hey there. I lived in Westchester for 20+ years. In the summer, just about every kid is in camp. The richer kids go to expensive sleep away camps. There are also local rec camps, run by the town in Rye and neighboring Harrison, which might suit, as your kids can mix with other local kids and you can have time to explore surrounding areas. However, for older children it's a tween time between going to a camp and working as a counsellor or life guard, in one. Fourteen is too young to work. You could look into specific camps for your 14 year old, such as soccer camp (usually at the end of summer, after the town camp ends) or week long experiences at the local colleges, for writing or other academic experiences. If you plan to join a country club, that will help your kids meet other kids in the area. It's a totally different place in the summer because so many kids go away for six weeks... The summer holiday is 9weeks long! I hope this helps.
