And I already need HELP! Bink my Dobermann wake up this morning with a BIG SWOLLEN LEFT CHEEK... tried to call the vet in Tavira dr Helder but got an answering device in Portugese... I don't speak or understand that yet... since oktober here... so... can some one help me in this in what to do? As I have heard it could be an infected tooth and the puss getting into the bloodstream??

Portugal: Fatal Infections in hospitals:
I live here only since oktober in the Algarve. When I opened an account at the bank, I could also obtain a health insurance which was advised to m, I will have my invoices paid back 50%.
Also I was told that with this health insurance, when I had to go to a hospital, I was insured for
being taken to a private clinic, which was recommended. I hope I have helped you with this?
Kind regards,
Thesi
Portugal: a thought:
Good reality check thnx Old Pro! I am living still now in Belgium and look out on little mountains, never go there haha and now I am looking in or around Cabanas de Tavira... and I really want to become part of the village/community and get to know the Portugese people as well as of the Dutch, Belgian, English and other nationality people... if one knows a bungalow for me 3 bedrooms, a garage and a fenced yard for my 2 wonderful dogs a Dobermann and a Whippet and myself ;) I would love to hear that from you or anyone who knows something, hire longterm for at least a year or buy! Kind Regards!

Portugal: Advice needed please...:
Hello all,
I am a Dutch woman of almost 67, living in Belgium near to Leuven and am planning to immigrate to Portugal.
I am coming to have a look at 29th of May until 11th of June and hope to be able to immigrate the end of September.
I will be looking for the best part for me with my 2 dogs my Dobermann Binkie of 5 yrs and my Whippet Queenie of 11 yrs., to live in Portugal.
I dont know where it is better living, in the Algarve or in the province Aveiro where it is a bit less warm...
I have seen a pretty house in Leiria but I dont know if there are also Dutch speaking people and I think that would be nice though...
Maybe renting first is a better option and where do I put then all the furniture?
I hope anyone of you can give me some advice.
Kind regards,
Scarlatti
