Colombia: Villages near Armenia for retirement:

Visitando.....very informative post ! Sounds like I might need to make a few trips to the eje cafetero area. I do enjoy a few days in a smaller pueblo...but long for the city of Medellin in about three(3) days. Different strokes for each one of us. Tranquilo y Buena Suerte.

Colombia: Half and half:

Cafetero...the odds are 50/50...that's better than the slots in Vegas. Great post ! Keep-em-coming.

Colombia: Can you drink the water in Colombia:

I filter my water too...but I also did the same thing when I lived in the U.S. and also when I lived in Ecuador. It tastes good and I am healthy...but that's just me. Tranquilo. Buena Suerte a todos !

Colombia: Expats who returned to US or Canada:

Elex great post ! I, after living out of the U.S for over two(2) years, agree wholeheartedly with your comments. Yes, there are things that I enjoy while visiting in the U.S. like great cuts of filet mignon at the local Publix & dining at a few favorite restaurants, on Sanibel Island, Florida. Yes, dining cost are considerably higher in the U.S. Overall...I prefer the people of Colombia & honestly just being on "island time" a little. It just seems too much like a rat race" in the U.S. now...that I've experienced the beautiful people & the lifestyle in Latin America. I like the weather here in Colombia much more than in South Florida. Those are my thoughts. Tranquilo y Paz. Buena Suerte.

Colombia: Bus Luggage Limitations?:

The last pickup truck taxis I saw were in a village in Ecuador called Vilcabamba...hot there with no see-ums & mosquitos. But the pickup truck taxis were quite plentiful.

Colombia: Thinking of moving to Colombia:

elex...do you think you could allow some room for some other posters ? It just might be a good idea. As I understand it.....no one knows everything about a country, ever...even after living in it for many years. Insight into a question is good...a totally totalitarian post accomplishes zero...in terms of relevant information on any website. Traquilo y Paz a todos.

Colombia: Tickbox:

Has anyone heard of TickBox TV ? I just did some research on it and it sounds good...but real knowledge beats an infomercial. Any thoughts will be appreciated. Buena Suerte !

Colombia: Bucaramanga:

Pittsburg, At this point I have not visited Bucaramanga...but un amigo mío told me that it gets to 96 degrees there...really ? I have checked the temps on the 'net...and they do not seem to back that up. Since you're there...how HOT is it ? Qué pasa con el clima ?

Colombia: Cartagena:

Boca, you are welcome ! this site generally stays calm & informative...as it should be. Many expats & locals contribute a lot of good information to others. Buena suerte.

Colombia: Moving to Barranquilla:

Jeff, I have been to Barranquilla and spent a week there in 2015. To me, and I lived in SW Florida for 17 years(prior to becoming an expat).....it was HOT...I don't mean hot...I mean H-O-T. Transportation por taxista=sí definitely. You'll find a dependable driver and call him on his cell or WhatsApp, either one. Peases spend a few weeks or a month ther...to check out the weather & learn some spoken expañol, as you'll need it , anywhere in Latinaoamerica.
