Chile: English Training Academy for Children:
Hello,
I am thinking about setting up an English As a Second Language for Children Program in Chile. We are currently running one in Venezuela that really works great so we are looking to see if we can expand to another South American country.
How is the landscape for learning/teaching English in Chile? Are parents interested in putting their children in a specialized after school program?
Are people interested in receiving private classes as well?
Thanks for any information you can give me

Chile: Networking Opportunities for Teachers:
Hello,
I was reading your post about teaching in Chile.
I am looking to set up a program specialized in Teaching English as a Second Language to Children (age 6 to 12). I have such a program running here in Venezuela and its running really well for the past 5 years, but since the political and economic situation in this country is really bad, we are looking into moving to another country.
We have 3 different forms of offering our program here.
1. We started out in our own place where we offer classes to children 3 to 5 years old. 2 days a week, each 1.30 hours. 12 to 15 children per group
2. We offer our service to schools where we rent classrooms. The service is then only available for the children of that school. again 2 times a week, 1.30 hours per day and 12 to 15 students. 6 till 12 years old. We follow the same age groups as in the school...offering 1st to 6th grade....our objective is to make sure that we reinforce the English they get in school and give them a head start.
This is offered as an Extra Curricular Activity
3. We offer our service to schools as their English Department. Meaning that we would take on everything that is related to teaching English in that school.
We always work with Interactive SmartBoards and other technology as that appeals well to young learners
Would a business offering these kinds of services work in Chile?
Thank you for your reply.
Kind Regards,
Mike
