CoconutBowling: Thank you for sharing that well written story...Left me smiling.....and when you're talking about sending your loved ones away on the evening tide, it's a good thing to leave with a smile.
Mexico: U.S. brokerages and mail forwarding services:
U.S. Government rulings (FATCA) have made it difficult, from what I've been told, for foreign banks to want to have U.S. citizens in their businesses as there are penalties to pay both by the banks and the citizen if the information is not reported to the IRS. We were just made aware of this. It is quite invasive and pushy of the U.S. government to attempt to boss foreign banks around, so some of them just don't want to deal with U.S. customers anymore...from what I hear. https://www.irs.gov/businesses/corporations/summary-of-fatca-reporting-for-u-s-taxpayers

Come ON, People! Can you stop the attacks? This is INSANE! Is it because you can't SEE each other or WHAT that you think it's okay to act like this? Just inform and leave off the sarcasm and nasty commentary about crawling under rocks and wishing another person such ill will that you want them dead. Good GRIEF! Is this the kind of person that Mexico attracts? I hope you're the exception.
Mexico: Mexico, 3rd most dangerous....:
Marinoni14, none of us know "the truth" and really the only thing that we can go on and depend on it is the voice of people we know first hand and personal experience. Luck has something to do with this. People quoting facts about there being more murders in Chicago proves nothing. It's like saying, "You'll only lose ONE eye, instead of both." Who the heck wants to have losing an eye as an option?

It is my considered opinion that there are those on this forum that could use some help managing their email tongues. (LOL).

That was a helpful and informative post, JimW. Thanks for taking the time to cram all that information into one succinct post.
Mexico: Mail forwarding company's?:
I am curious, too, what people's experience is with mail either going to or coming from the United States. Is it as reliable as in the states or not? I have heard that you should never send anything you really value, because even insured, there is on ensurance it will get there. Any comments?

TomWins,
That was an excellent post. I wish there were some way to get that posted to the entire WORLD!
