It's mainly the younger women that have the biggest problem unless your married but as long as you have documents and photos to prove you have known each each other for a long time you should be ok

Philippines: Retiring soon:
I know guys on a similar budget so yes it is possible so when I see people asking if it's possible to live on $1500 a month , I'm thinking really ? Or even higher again do your research , it is more expensive to live in a big city than on the outskirts or in the Provences , what you need to consider as well is the cost of Health insurance, also what kind of lifestyle you want , if you need to live like in America or any other western country it will cost a fortune live like the locals it's a lot cheaper also do you drink a lot or smoke ? All these things you have to consider the trick is to keep it simple
Philippines: Seriously thinking about the P.I:
Hi a lot of expats have Phil Health or other private medical insurance you need to shop around online and see what is available at the time you retire, I do know that from July 1 this year Philhealth is going to be expensive for expats, it will cost 17,000 pesos a year just for basic cover I'm not sure about other companies, just google it I'm sure companies will be falling over themselves to come up with a better deal , it depends on how old you are and what medical history you have obviously the older you are when you apply the more expensive if will be also some companies have a cut off age when you apply ,

Philippines: Property taxes:
Depends where you are and who your withyou have to make your own paradise as everyone has their own idea what paradise is, for some people it's being able to bask under a palm tree near a beach. For others it's hanging out with your mates having a beer and shooting a game of pool in a local bar, or bird watching or wakeboarding
Philippines: Filipino courtesy:

Philippines: Veterans living in the Philippines:
Advertising yourself as a vet could also make you a potential Target, one 74 year old vet was shot and killed in Biliran last Friday as he was driving with his wife , it may or may not have a bearing as to the reason why He was killed but its worth thinking about as most vets here do not advertise that fact for security reasons , most guys here tend to keep a low profile and try not to upset anyone at least not the Locals
