Laos: Moving and Working in Laos:
Some rather odd advice and some incorrect information in the above post. Firstly there are cinemas at Lao Itec. Secondly, if you work for a foreign company they will probably pay the income tax for you
Laos: Registered Nurse:
I doubt whether she would get work in a Lao hospital. Best bet would probably be to look at nursing for an NGO, or working for an embassy here as a nurse.
Laos: jobs in vientiane:
Good grief, how can anyone answer this question unless we know what your occupation is?
Laos: Have Baby in Laos?:
No one can answer this but yourself. I have just had my second daughter - both born here. However westerners would regard the conditions as primitive. I was very satisfied with the care, however.
Laos: Long term visa Laos:
There is no such thing as a multi entry tourist visa. What you are after is a business visa. This will entitle you to work as well. They last a year and give multi entry. However you either need to be employed to get one, or pay $500 or so to someone to "arrange" one for you.
Laos: laos info:
New or used?
You can get a new Toyota Hilux, /4wd, an Izuzu or a Ford pickup. You will be looking up to about $35k.
2nd hand trucks sell for a lot here - a decent Hi Lux will set you back about 17k.
YOu can pick up cars for as little as 5-6k, but they are rubbish. Budget at least 8-10 for something halfway decent.
Laos: laos infomation:
250 pm. A colleague just rented a 2 bedroom house with a garden for that. Furnished, kitchen, electric hw and cable TVMind you, these are getting VERY hard to find. Rents have skyrocketed in the 5 yrs I have been here.
300+ is the norm now.
Laos: Buying used car:
You will have to pay the tax on the car.
Laos: Moving during rainy season:
Hi Pawthoo, I have just recently moved to Vientiane for good. Maybe we can meet up for a Beerl Lao
