Costa Rica: 'Should I go or should I stay?:

Ironically I just spent 12 hous in a van with 8 ppl doing a visa run and all I heard was complaints about how things work in CR. I wonder how that makes sense when you're on the way to "renew" and have 90 more days to stay in a place that you're complaining about. Just a thought.

Costa Rica: Places to stay:

Have you tried CR craigslist? I rented a house 800m from Dominican centre (it's a really small town - no market etc). There's also a resort but I'm not sure the cost. It's called villas rio mar you can google it Good luck

Costa Rica: Coming to CR in June for 1st time:

Very diplomatic Khol! Jaco is Jaco Jaco is known amongst other things for the sex trade (ie why Costa Rica got its reputation as the second ranked country for sex tourism). I'm personally not a fan of the town. There are way nicer places (sorry if I'm offending anyone). Puntarenas - if you like cruise ships, you'll be pleased. This is where they dock. Just do a search on the Internet and you'll see for yourself.

Costa Rica: my first visit to Costa Rica:

Give the lady a break. So by now she knows Costa Rica isn't an island. And she has started to investigate and ask for help and suggestions. Some people need more help than others ... And that's what this community is here for. So here goes: Costa Rica is a country in Central America sandwiched between Nicaragua to the north and Panama to the south. If you are speaking of Dominical, that's in the south, pacific side. It is a very small community but you can get your basic amenities. I lived there for two months and loved it It can be very hot and humid. If you want to explore on your own the public bus system is reliable and very affordable BUT all roads lead to San Jose making cross country travel long. If you like a temperate climate visit the Central Valley (try towns like Atenas, Grecia). If you like rainforests and remote area try Monteverde. If you like touristy areas try manual Antonio, quepos and the Nacoya penisula. I would highly recommend you get a map that shows elevation. The higher you are and further from the ocean the less humid it may be. I would also suggest learning Spanish. It will get you far with the friendly Ticos. If you're in the Central Valley I can make a suggestion for a private driver to take you around. Good luck and you'll absolutely fall in love with Costa Rica. I know I did the first time I went. I go every year! Cheers

Costa Rica: residency:

Most of the expats I know that haven't gotten their residence do border runs. They hire the same 'driver' to take them to (mostly) Nicaragua or Panama and spend a couple of hours 'visiting' and then re-enter. Whole thing costs like $150 per person if you've got about 6 friends. Ask around.

Costa Rica: Looking to rent in Dominical or more south:

Try Craigslist CR. I was able to rent a TICO house about 800m from Dominical village for $500 US / month.

Canada: job offer in canada:

Hi Amira is a legitimate company however it doesn't sound like the job offer is legitimate. I suggest you call the company. Here is the website with contact information: http://www.amira.ca/en/contact.php

Costa Rica: Want to see what's it like to live in Costa Rica:

Michele I rented a house off Craig's list. I wouldn't rent anything until you see it in person. I would recommend you negotiate all utilities included (electricity is very reasonable: ie cheap). Check that there's hot water. You can see if anythings for rent in the area by going to the Craig's list Costa Rica. I don't think I'm allowed to put in the link here. This is just one suggestion

Canada: Shipping A Truck to Uganda:

Hello A friend of mine wants to ship his F150 truck to Uganda from Canada. Does anyone know the cost and which company would be the best?
