Jordan: US Women looking for other english speaking women:

Hi, I travel to Hashemi Al-Shamali once a month. I too, am a woman from the US and have a daughter. We are near the new hospital. PM me if you'd like

Kuwait: relatives on a visit visa:

Just wondering if relatives (not first degree---holding a Jordanian passport) can come into Kuwait on a visit visa? I understand that it may difficult for some citizens of non GCC arab countries to come in Kuwait.

Kuwait: cost of living projections:

Although Kuwait is not as expensive as Dubai, I wonder about rising costs over a two year period. My teaching contract is for 2 years, so the salary will not increase during that time. What is the going rate (in KD) for tutoring outside of the school? Looking at the salary and the rising costs, I may have to tutor. Also, I hear I should join a full-service health club to the tune of approx. 1000KD per year? For this price, what would I get? I am used to paying 45 per month here in the US for the club, and that includes spinning, yoga, pilates, and pool. Thanks!!!

Kuwait: cost of living 8730 KD?:

Hi: I hope that those currently living in Kuwait could help me figure the cost of living in Q8. Would this salary-about 8730 per annum be enough to live decently? I hope to save 12,000 usd per annum. My school package includes furnished apt. and free tuition for my daughter. I was not thrilled to learn that I may need to lease a car for 300 KD per month. This country does not seem as affordable as Jordan or Egypt. Is a starbuck coffe really 1.5 KD? Also, My daughter wants to continue her music lessons...any brass teachers out there in the expat community?

Kuwait: New to Kuwait:

Hi! I will be teaching in Kuwait this Aug. Do you think 8900 KD is a decent amount to live on(apt. and utilities included, plus airfare and dependant tuition) per annum? I was surprised to learn the costs of everyday things...and having to rent a car and pay for a healthclub membership. Thanks for your insight!
