Vietnam: Whole Grains:
I'm wondering if there is a place that sells whole grains? I'm interested in quinoa, chia, buckwheat, barley, wheatgerm etc. etc. Also, dried herbs.
I'm not interested in flour or bread.
If not in Hanoi, is there an online company in Vietnam where these
items can be ordered?
thanks
Chile: Santiago expat club??:
I knew Canadian woman, who had lived with her husband in Santiago.
She told me about an expat club that seemed wonderful. They had their own building and offered many diffferent activities,
I've tried to find out about the group to no avail. I'm wondering if anyone knows anything about this expat club?
Vietnam: HCMC social groups:
I am an American retiree interested in moving to HCMC. I'm wondering if there are any social groups that would be of interest to older folk who don't work and aren't real drinkers?
Every group activity that I've read about online seems to be geared towards tech-business people who are quite young.
Croatia: New condos in Zagreb ?:
Last July, while walking to the Ferdinand Budicki Automobile Museum in Zagreb, I passed a new apartment complex. I'm wondering if anyone knows its name?
Also ,are there other condo buildings that are new or under construction in or near the city center?
thanks
Mexico: Guadalajara expat groups:
I read that there is an American Society chapter in Guadalajara. I have been unable to find out about their activities names of officers or even if the group is still active.
Does any one know anything about this group? Are there other local expat groups that would be of interest to English speaking retired expats?
thanks
Thailand: How can I get a Thai retirement visa ??:
I am a U.S. born U.S. citizen, who has been living, legally, as a tourist in another country for many years. I am over 50, single and financially well off'
Because I don't have residency where live, the Consul General at my local Thai Consulate told me that they couldn't issue me a visa and said that I would have to go to a Thai Consulate in the U.S.
I would like to move to Chiang Mai. Is it possible for me to get a retirement visa there without having to go to the U.S.?
The Thai website states "You must be holding nationality or permanet residence of the country of application." I'm not exactly sure what this means.
Colombia: Medellin expats:
Since the end of the last century,I've lived in Barcelona, Spain and Buenos Aires, Argentina. The big draw was that both of these had expats clubs ,lunches and dinners that met on scheduled dates. These events were invaluable for everyone, especially those that were new arrivals.
I 've read that there are many English speaking expats in Medellin, but the city doesn't seem to have any expat groups Am I wrong?
Portugal: How can I live in the Algrave?:
I'm wondering how an American retiree can live permantly in a EU country? Everything that I've read says that unless one's parents or grandparents were born in a EU country or they are able to spend at least hundreds of thousands of Euros on a business or on real estate, it's not possible.
I can't understand how so many sources recommend that U.S. retirees can and should move to the Algrave. They never mention long term visa requirements.
Please tell me the secret.
Thailand: Thailand visa for U.S. retiree:
I am a retired American who would like to move to Chiang Mai. I have been living in Argentina legally, as a tourist for many years. As a tourst, I must leave the country within every 90 day period.
I was told by the Thailand Consul General that because I don't have Argentina residency, she would not be able issue me a long term visa .It would be necessary that i visit a Thailand Consulate in the U.S. Is there an alternative to my going to the U.S.?
Do have any options? While money is not a problem, I'm not sure if an Elite Visa is a good idea.
I'd appreciate any suggestions and advice.
Macedonia: I'd like to live in Skopje:
I am a retired American. I have lved in Argentina legally for 12 years, as a tourist and bought an apartment. It is required that I leave the country within every 90 day period. Woud this option be available to me? This is how I can say that I have visited Skopje 3 times in recent years.
It seems like the ideal place to live.
I've done some research about moving, but I'm not sure about the requirements. I am single, in good health and am financially secure.
I'd appreciate any info that can be given.
