Thailand: Shipping to the US:

So last time I tried to ship stuff home, it was a pain in the ass. The guy at the post office said "no batteries", which apparently really means "no electronics", and my 5000+ baht shipment was returned. I want to send another box, and now I'm paranoid... Question: Can I ship DVDs to the US from Thailand?

Thailand: Taking prescription meds:

Hey all! I'm going to be living in Thailand for a year while teaching ESL. I read online that only a month's worth of prescription meds can be brought into Thailand. However, I am of course going to be there for a year. Is there any way to get around this rule? Any other options worth considering? Thanks!
