If you are retired you must register with the embassy in Bishkek in order to receive your Social Security while living here. You must also show up in person every 3 months with your passport in order to continue receiving your social security payments. The embassy here is your local Social Security office. If you are about to apply to start receiving your social security the easiest way is to apply online but the must still fill out all the appropriate paperwork at the US embassy in Bishkek. All your paperwork will then be sent to the main office in Athens Greece where they will contact you for a phone interview. Then you must show up every three months in person and fill out a form proving you are still alive. This is the correct way to receive your Social Security while living in Kyrgyzstan.
