Portugal: Ferragudo in the summer:

Hello all, I wanted to find out if Ferragudo is overwhelmed by tourists during the summer months as Carvoeiro is? If so, is it a lot of partying or is it more family oriented? Thanks for your help.

Portugal: Importing car from Spain:

The Algarve Daily News is reporting Portugal is the 9th most expensive country for used cars, while Spain is significantly cheaper. What is involved in purchasing a used car in Spain and importing it to Portugal? Are there significant fees / modifications to the car that must be paid for?

Portugal: Accurate online weather site:

Can someone recommend an online site where I can get accurate weather predictions for Carvoeiro and other areas please?

Portugal: Flying large dogs on TAP Airlines:

Hello all, my wife and I are going to retire to Portugal next year and we will be bringing our dogs, both about 70 lb (32 kg). We will be flying TAP airlines to Lisbon and the dogs will fly in cargo as there is a limit to the weight of dog/crate that is allowed to fly in the hold. Does anyone have any experience with TAP and transporting dogs? We have never flown our dogs anywhere before, do you have any advice or things that we should know in advance? How did your dog(s) do on your trip? Thanks in advance for your help.

Mexico: Taxes on 401k withdrawals and Social Security?:

My wife and I are thinking of retiring to Mexico. We won't be working at all, we will live off of saving the first 2 years with no income. Then we will start to pull from our 401Ks and draw Social Security. Will we have to pay taxes in Mexico on this retirement income, or do we just pay U.S. taxes?

Portugal: TAXES IN PORTUGAL:

Is this correct? I wasn't aware that any additional Portuguese taxes might need to be paid, only the U.S. taxes on our 401k and SS....

Portugal: Fatal Infections in hospitals:

We are planning to retire to Portugal next summer in the Algarve. But we have read about the severe problems Portugal is facing with fatal infections contracted while in the hospital. Since we will have private insurance I assume that means we would be taken to a private hospital in an emergency. Is that correct? Are the private hospitals experiencing as many fatal infections as the state run hospitals?

Portugal: Retirement Visa / Schengen:

My wife and I are planning to retire i Portugal after obtaining our retirement visas. My question is regarding the Schengen agreement. If have resident Visas from Portugal are we still limited to staying only 3 months at a time in other Schengen countries as we are now, or are we allowed to stay longer than that? thanks for your help!

Portugal: Watch NFL games:

Hello all, we are planning on moving to the Algarve next year, and I am curious if there are any cable / satellite / internet ways to watch NFL games live?
