India: Expat jobs in Mumbai:

Hi Millie, If you aren't married to your partner then don't assume that you will be given a residents visa automatically. If you do get a visa based on your partners employment you may only be given an X visa. This is a dependent spouses visa and will not entitle you to work. If you want to work you will need to apply for a work visa in Australia before you come over. The only problem is you might have to get the job first and get the company to sponsor you in. Your partner's company may be using a relocation company and they might be able to advise you on specifics. Alternatively have a look at the Indian immigration website. Good luck.
