Brazil: Au pair/nanny jobs in Brazil : ):
Hello there. My name is Marcos and I am brazilian, and I happen to have a daughter in US working as au pair. If you answer some questions it will be easier to try to help you. Do you speak other languages besides English? Do you have a degree or any professional certificate? What is your schooling level? How old are you and do you have any work experience? Because right now, I would NOT advise anyone to come to Brazil, we are in a serious economic and political crisis and jobs are scarce. However, IF you have a US degree etc. it will make things easier as foreign degrees / certificates are highly valued here. But as for working as au pair, I am sorry but I must concur with other posters, we are actually two countries in one, Belgium and India, the very rich and the very poor, and the "Belgium" part does look upon the "India" part (humbler help workers such as maids, nannies etc.) almost with scorn, so you would most likely get a McJob at best, i.e., underpaid and undervalued. I think your best bet here would be working as tourist guide or with expats. But anyway, the best of luck for you, nothing comes easy so if you really want to, you will find something. :)
