Brazil: Crime in Brasil today:

I was just in Brazil the last six months. From June to January. I was in the north Imperatriz. I had not problem I do have a Brazilian Girlfriend. There was some talk about some people being rob but no anymore than where I live in the US. The places like Rio and San Paulo may have a lot more problems. There was a big protest in a small costal city. The road are crap holes and when you go to any resort on the river the road is dirt. The driver are crazy along with the motorcycles. The people I met were all very welcoming and you should speak Portuguese. The selection in grocery stores are limited. You will have to adjust to much simple life. Right now I use credit cards and one got stolen some how it was still in my wallet. Be aware of your accounts. I use ATM. Its best if you have family in Brazil. They will help keep you safe. I am looking a getting permit residency there myself.

Mexico: Road trip north to south:

I had a friend who would drive all the way to Belize did fine stayed on government toll roads. That was years ago no recent experience.

Mexico: Has anyone gotten there Dengue vaccine:

I read there is a vaccine for Dengue here in Mexico. The name of the vaccine is Dengvaxia vaccine. Is it available here in Playa Del Carmen. It said should be with private doctor later in public clinics. I am interested any recomendations

Mexico: Gas prices and taxis:

It was publish here in Playa Del Carmen the Taxi driver could not go on strike. They need to be available 24 hours

Mexico: Gas stations closed:

They have been warning Gas Stations and Supermarket to close early. This started yesterday when a report of group calling to loot started on Gas Stations. This weekend it called the Three kings where you are exchanging present. What happen it gasoline has gone up so much in price this is what has cause people to riot this weekend. Mexico: Just Arrived in Playa Del Carmen:

I would like to meet more expat living here or visiting. I will be here for close to 6 months. I looking to possible retire here. I been here two day arrived January 4 still under the weather with a cold. So laying low but next week hope to hang out. I know there is big event here now BPM. Thank for any one who want to meet. Mexico: Expats in Queretaro:

I have done this Twice in my life sold everything. When I moved to Argentina now getting ready to move somewhere. Was looking at Brazil or here in Playa Del Carmen. When you move away from the US. You realize you really did need the stuff. Its a very freeing experience I suggest you try it. You can alway buy more stuff

Mexico: Data plans while travelling:

I have not travel to Mexico yet. I am planning to be there in January. I have T mobile and get unlimited Data that works in Brazil most is 3 G. Also T mobile let you call for free in Mexico to USA.

Mexico: Going through Customs:

Just wonder do we need to show return tickets. We are planning to stay 6 month do we need any special visa or id. We have are places already reserved for our stay. Thank. one other thing in Playa del Carmen do you have any problem with the tap water or always us bottle water?
