Portugal: where to buy a rental appartement:

I would recommend Lisbon or Sintra. During all year they are full of tourists.

Portugal: Banking and PT Mortgage payments:

Dear Wilsonworld, your thought about tranferring some amount every few months to your PT bank account and set up direct deposits is the best decision, I think. It is very suitable. All bills (electricity, water, gas, etc) will be payed in time and you won't need to worry that you missed the date to pay. Some of companies already have an option to send invoices by email, it will help you to check all withdrawals. Just choose an option of direct payment while concluding agreements. Sometimes to avoid any frauds you need to notify your bank about list of companies, which will have the right to make direct withdrawals (it depends on bank you choose).

Portugal: Car Buying:

It is possible to do, but you will need to pay taxes when you will register a car in Portugal. Why don't you consider to arrive straight to Lisbon with your dog? There is nothing difficult with papers for dog. I am flying to Lisbon with my dog all the time. All veterinarians in airport speak English, procedure for dog is clear. I can give you contacts of veterinarians in Lisbon airport and you will contact them directly. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me. Regards, Olga
