Panama: Corporation:
Hi,
We are in the process of getting our friendly nations visa and looking for a house to buy., the house may take 6-9 months. Not sure exactly how long to find the right place. We are opening a corporation for the visa as we don't have a house yet( need house or corporation) for friendly nations visa. We also need three signatures for the corporation but the is only the two of us.
Our lawyer said he will outsource it. The outsourcing will provide signatures for the corporation, a third member, and resident agent. The resident agent costs 300 a year and the third member is 150 a year.
Is there anyway to get around this and save the 450?
I don't like to pay this as we will be closing the corporation by Oct-Dec when we do move to Panama and buy a house.
Panama: Bringing motorcycle:
Hi,
I searched this site and can't find any answers to bringing our older motorcycle in our shipping container. Has anyone done this from Canada, if so does the bije stay at customs for awhile? Do they charge storage for the bike if it has to stay there for awhile while they check out the paper work? Also if the bike has to stay can we get our furniture and boxes out? Does the bike gave to be in a wooden crate?
Thanks everyone for s the information. I can't wait for our adventure to begin.

Panama: Lawyer:
Hi Everyone,
We are ifrom Canada and in the process of getting our paper work and seeing lawyer in Panama. We are planning on seeing him next month. He said to plan for two full weeks in Panama. Did anyone do this in a shorter time? We are still working and just got back from Panama and taking another two weeks gets costly. Any recommendations of a lawyer that does the friendly nations faster?

Panama: Santiago or David:
Hi Everyone,
I would like to say that this forum is awesome!
We enjoy reading everything for years already. So much information here. We have just started getting out police check and the papers we need for our move this Oct- Nov. we have been to CR and to Panama many times. We drove from CR to Panama City and spent two weeks this last trip driving around Chiriqui, Volcan, David, etc. What I am interested in is finding out what Santiago is like compared to David regarding heat, rain, crime, humidity, wind, swimming etc. If anyone can give us any information would be great. We are wondering if we want to spend two more weeks around David or check out Santiago?
Thanks for all the great information.
Panama: Driver:
Hi Everyone,
I just posted on this forum about meeting Canadians and looking for a driver. I don't know how to edit what I posted so I will repost some.
We are two Canadians looking to meet other Canadians. We would like to meet someone and take them out for supper and hopefully get some tips on what to do and not do. We are also looking to hire a Panamanian who can speak English who knows the area around David to drive us around looking for houses for sale or finding new areas we may be interested to live in. We will be moving to Panama in late fall. My husband and I are in our mid 50,s.
Thanks again for all the information we found on this forum.

Panama: Canadians in Panama:
Hi Everyone,
I have been reading this forum for a number of years and it is very helpful.
My husband and I will be retiring this fall. We have been planning a move to Costa Rica or Panama for many years. We have been to both countries a few times and have decided on Panama. We are thinking of moving to the Chiriqui Province outside of David toward Boquete as it is a bit cooler than David. We will be back in Panama near David on the 21st of January. We would love to meet other Canadians to take you out to dinner and maybe get some useful tips. We are also looking for a driver that speaks Spanish and can drive us around to see houses for sale.
Thanks again everyone for all the great advice on this forum.
Panama: retire to Panama:
Hi,
When was that? We are also in Canada and moving to Panama next fall. We're just looking into a lawyer and shipping containers now.
