Ecuador Welcome Forum: metal detector fun:
Are there any of you that go prospecting with metal detectors as a hobby? I'm curious if I should bring my gold bug down.
Colombia: Columbia vs. Ecuador retirement:
Ok, I went as far back as 2013 and have a question or two. I am retiring soon and am debating between pacific Ecuador beach towns and Atlantic Columbia beach towns. Anyone here have experience with both? Or how are the Atlantic Beach towns. I am a fisherman.
Ecuador: EC comedy central:
Thanks to all of you for the assistance I have been given. Especially all of the comedy. I now have a place in Manglaralto, although I am not permanently there yet. To those who feel they have been attacked (except for the troll, you know who) I believe you need to learn to accept sarcasm and satire. I enjoy these threads immensely. I call it EC comedy central. Now really, if a few words on a blog site really offend you, how in the hell do you expect to adapt to life in an entirely different culture, in a foreign country that doesn't speak your native language? Really. The reduced cost of living shouldn't be the main reason for moving to EC. I've lived all over the world and money is the worst reason to be anywhere. So, I suggest you roll with the punches and enjoy the comedy. Looking forward to more entertaining post by those who have been called windhag, older than dirt, and more. And I can't wait to have some laughs over a few pilsners and redeye therapy.
Till then

I've never felt afraid.
In Ecuador I've felt safe and that is the difference. Afraid vs safe. There are always wayward souls.
