Hi there , As for the location , i guess you should avoid living downtown or nearby at these days . Heliopolis ,Nasr City and Maadi are three nice districts and expats friendly. Egypt: Where to live, in Cairo?:

Hi Martin , I do recommend Roxi / Heliopolis OR Nasr City District. Marghani area is a very nice area as well. 400 LE is nothing , you'll never ever find something with this rate . No wonder it was a sh*t. It depends on what you expect but in general an OK one starts from 3000 LE especially during summer time. I have two flats in Heliopolis and Nasr City . 2500LE and 4000 LE respectively. If by any chance , you wanna have a look to compare , you're welcome maybe you'll be convinced to go back to the 400LE one , invest more money in upgrading it (if you're staying for a long term) and live happily ever after :)

Egypt: Moving to Egypt:

Actually, chasing a job vacancy here became harder since the revolution. I don't recommend you come unless you have a contract or a potential interview/s .

Egypt: Where to Live - Maadi or Heliopolis:

I think Nasr City can be a good option , too. It is near to the 5th settlement where the AIS is located (If we are talking about the same branch). I know some friends who rent out their places , if you need any help , drop me a line :)
