Honduras: Also looking to retire, arriving in 6 weeks:
My wife and I have been researching Roatan for over two years. We are arriving in 6 weeks and will be staying in a VRBO rental just east of Sandy Bay.
We would like to experience as much of the island as we can in the 10 days we will be there.
I have been told that I do not need to rent a car, as the taxes are plentiful and fairly inexpensive. What are your thoughts?
Also...is there absolutely a "must see" list on the island to help convince us that this is 'the place'?
Any input would be much appreciated.
Thank you,
Jeff

Costa Rica: any Lawyers on the forum?:
I am close to retirement age, (2 years away) and I have been to CR several times. I would love to retire there but I have a nagging crime hanging over my head. I participated in a felony (selling stolen goods) 40 years ago. Although it was very long ago, I am worried that this will keep me from getting a retirement residency in CR. I meet all the other criteria and have more than enough money in my pension plan as well as social security. I have been very concerned about this stupid crime for years. Now it appears it may come back to haunt me. Is this a potential issue, or am I worried for nothing.
thank you
