Panama: Crime in panama:

I don't sugar coat anything, but my corn flakes.. crime is up a little here in panama but it isn't bad here. I undestand that most of you have never been here and your trying to learn about this country, covering as much that worries you as you can. but the real question is do we feel safe here? yes we do, it's not like we are afraid to move freely about the country. It's not like I think well if I leave my home today someone is going to break into it and steal all my stuff. or I might be in some kind of crime today of my person. higher prices.... You know years ago panama was a very cheap place to live. we kept prices low because most people couldn't afford to eat much less buy goods and services. now we have zero unemployment, so if you want a job you have one and there is money flowing and people buying and when you have this you have prices that start to go up. plus like you said prices everywhere are going up. so if you factor that in then really are prices are not that bad. many things here are cheaper still.

Panama: Atm scam:

yes that happen to me about 3 years ago, I tried to get 500.00 and it didn't work, so I tried it again and same thing, so I went to another atm machine and try it the third time, still nothing and it stated something wrong with my card. so I went to the bank the next time I was in the city and it showed I had pulled out 1500.00 that day, which I didn't. I told them no way this could even happen due to the fact that 500.00 is all you can get out in a 24 hour time frame. they looked into it, and came back about two months later and still said I got the money, again I stated show me how? they looked into it again another 2 month wait only to hear the same thing, so I said ok, close my account. I never did anything else about it, because it just wasn't worth my time to do it.

Panama: Opening a bank account:

stupid or what? WHAT.. why would I am a bank want to waste my time opening a account for someone who might be here two months? if you buy something and have a approved visa to live here for life then I might do it,, but for someone who just popped in and is on a tourist visa, don't waste my time.

Panama: Medicare Coverage in Panama:

Yeah thats not going to happen, each one that leaves saves them from spending money on you, plus they still get to tax you to death, even if your living down here.

Panama: Moving to Panama:

dude first off I COULD care less, 2nd I am only posting what I heard had happen,, ed did own land, and another american did want to take it from him, a american has been arrested in connection with this crime, he was the last to admit he saw him, he also was heard bragging about it. so not sure what your dog has to do in this fight, but next time bring a pit bull with aids, and not a puppy get it son?

Panama: Panama City-Boquete-Bocas Del Toro-Panama City Itinerary:

well you have a few choices,, rent a car, bus, or fly. I think you should rent a car and go.

Panama: Hand Guns:

Yes guns are used and sold here. You would have to fill out a lot of paperwork, to be able to get one, you have to have a full time visa to live here first. no record, take a test to see if your nuts or not, buy the gun and they keep it until you get your permit, they fire it and keep a bullet on record as well. anyway that's about it. if your life is in danger or anothers you do have the right to use it.
