Jamaica: residing in Jamaica:
Thank you..I was hoping someone would respond to the aforementioned misinformation
Jamaica: House Building:
Yes, that's a GREAT answer and not one piece of it should be left out. I've seen many being built and been around for some of the blunders. Very well done.
Jamaica: Disgusted with JCF Response:
I was told, as a single woman there, to never yell help, if someone broke in, or I was afraid, as no one would do a thing, but to yell FIRE!
Jamaica: Selling property in Jamaica:
What I can tell you, although I have never sold property, I did live in Jamaica for a few years..i know a lady in Negril, who is number one in real estate on the island, and she sells islandwide....As you may know, when it comes to doing business, you can get in a mess easily, if you dont' know what you're doing, esp in another country. She has a facebook page, it's called Christine Klein sells Real Estate Jamaica...and she can help you find your way..she's young, she's American, and like I said, she is the number one agent, i would work with her...all the best to you. Soozy
Jamaica: Real Estate Agents!:
christine klein in negril..check her fb page.
Jamaica: Studio or Small Apartment in Negril:
good answer, i agree.
Jamaica: Relocate from Sweden:
If you haven't spent any extended time there, don't do it! It is not like a two week vacation. You need alot of money, safety, and understanding of the goings on. You cannot just go there and work, for US citizens it's $2000 for a work permit, and that is for ONE job only, and it has to be a job that a local cannot do, so a specific niche. Keep posting, others will inform you more. Best of luck...when you are really ready, you may change your mind.
Jamaica: Call me crazy...:
my two cents....it's not crazy..it's a great life experience...likelihood of finding a job, not so good, but NOT impossible, but for a US citizen, and probably anyone, it's 2k US, for a work permit, for one job, for one year..live as frugally as you can, is the best advice i can give you, and do not buy anything, until you have spent alot of time living on the island. oftentimes, people decide that they dont' really want to live there. dont' burn bridges at home.
Jamaica: need a car:
people always used to say, go to mandeville to buy your car...i dont' know why, but many bought them there.
Jamaica: Moving to Jamaica With my family:
