Ecuador Welcome Forum: Fireworks:

Thanks! We decided to bring him home but appreciate the heads up about Fla, although I just somehow can't bring myself to go there. Guess we will try the SW. Makes us very unhappy but in speaking with a number of people...vets, and service dog trainers, that this is very similar to PTST and they have to be kept away from it as much as possible. Already back in Boston heading north...brrrr! Thanks

Guatemala: Quetzaltenango?:

While there please check out how much firework activity is there for us, if you wouldn't mind listening. We are suppose to come back in 6 mos and still not certain where to go. Thank you! Kitaniga

Costa Rica: Fireworks:

We had a Thinder Vest brought down to Antigua but by the time it got there the damage seemed to already be done. He is somewhat better since we have been away from the incessant fireworks but not good enough to expose him to Antigua again. I am familiar with the "fear" technique as we used that with certain horses on our ranch when I was growing up. Have worked with him on a much more gradual basis, medications, etc. not good. I think part of the problem is that Antigua has become such a tourist town even since 2013 when we were there. Can you suggest any place in Costa Rica that might not be do constant with the celebrating?

Panama: No Fireworks:

We just spent 6 mos in Antigua, Guatemala (2nd trip- longest stay) and absolutely love Guatemala!!! BUT...we travel with a service dog and this year the large fireworks were almost daily and non stop. Nothing we or the vets could do helped as he could feel the air pressure change. Anyone know anywhere where the fireworks are not a daily occurrence? Any help will be most appreciated! Kitaniga
