Anyone know if there is a bus that may go from San Jose to the downtown Grecia area. How long might that take?

I read how the COL in Costa Rica is much more expensive than Nicaragua. Panama, Equador. If a single lives in a moderate apartment In Grecia besides the rent where do you think are the expense differences?

Grenada with its expats and walkable areas sounds like a city I may like but I am interested in the better weather of Esteli. How would a 60s limited Spanish speaking American man fit in there with respects to friends, dating, healthcare, transportation, and US conveniences. $2000 a month budget.

Is $1500 a day an average cost for a hospital stay? Did they require any money or a credit card before you were released?

How is the neighborhood nearby Vivian Pellas Metropolitan with regards to safety, apartment availability and activities. Is it a very spread out area or somewhat walkable?

Regarding the ACA you need to be outside US more than 330 days to be exempt. If you have low income it may be beneficial to have it. Depending on the state you keep a US address at you may even be eligible for Medicaid if income is below 138% of poverty level for one person. Otherwise large subsidies can keep premiums below $100 a month.

Philippines: Living in St. Luke's hospital area:

City life is now my preference to island living and heard the St. Luke's hospital area may have many pros with its negatives. Need an apartment near US standards and public transportation is fine. Enjoy restaurants and socializing with expats and locals. Budget $2k. Near good medical important. Any opinions and recommendations?
