Portugal: Private Health Ins over age 70:

Just back from Portugal research trip and loved Cascais enough to move there. BUT husband and I will both be 70 when we do and find the cost of private insurance quotes at around $2500 monthly for the two of us. US citizens. Pretty much wipes out the otherwise low cost of living. Anyone have thoughts or advice?

Portugal: Ex-pats to meet with us?:

Husband and I will be in Lisbon jan 20-21 and Feb 3-5, in Albufeira-algarve Jan 21-28, Porto Jan 28-31, Cascais Jan 31-Feb 3. We are US citizens in our late 60's looking for part or full-time retirement. We are healthy, active world travelers interested in the outdoors, art, architecture and culture. Anyone out there willing to meet with us we'd love some ex-pat company during this exploration trip.
