Paraguay: I was adopted from Paraguay as a child and wish to return...:

Hello, I was adopted from Paraguay when I was young and have never gotten the chance to return. Now that I'm older I want to experience the country I came from. I just don't even know where to begin. I've been trying to do research, but I'm hearing such mixed messages that I don't know what to believe. Hearing that the country I came from is "disgusting, poor, and corrupt" is both painful and disheartening to say the least. Is it even worth visiting? I've always dreamt of living in Paraguay for a time just to experience the life I could have lived. Does anyone have any advice? Thank you for your time.
