Dominican Republic: relocating to DR:

Hello, My partner Phil and I will be visiting DR in a few weeks and are considering moving there permanently. I have been following the blogs and reading up on all of the different locations and have narrowed my search to Cabrera, Luperon, and either Piantina or Naco neighborhoods in Santo Domingo for renatls. I think it would be best to rent for the first year to give us more time to explore the country and find our perfect spot. However, I have discovered there are some places that do not have electricity. Is this a problem country wide of in isolated places? Any heads up rental agencies I can contact? Any assistance would be very helpful! Lynn & Phil
