Spain: Spanish Health Care Advise:
Myself and my husband have recently moved from the UK to Spain and have obtained our green card/ NIE.
Once we have obtained our Empadronamieto (we have an appointment for this tomorrow) we plan to sort out our Spanish health care.
This is where my questions start: I have a contract to work in Spain and Spanish social security number so will be making social security contribution to entitle me to Spanish health care and card. My husband on the other hand does not work or have a contract to work in Spain... Will he be eligible for Spanish health care and card as he is married to me? If so, do we arrange this?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
Spain: NIE Help (Modelo 790):
I really hoping that someone on here can help... Right here goes:
My husband and I have recently moved to Spain; I have been offered a job here and we have started the process of obtaining an NIE/ green card as we plan to be here for over 3 months. After completing the EX-18 form and complying the relevant documents we arranged an appointment at the local police station. The police officer was happy with everything that we provided and gave us a Modelo 790 form which he advised we would have to complete and take to any local bank to pay the application fee before we could be issued our NIE/ green card...
This is where the problem starts; I have taken the form to two different banks and they have both said that I need an NIE number in order for them to process the payment. I have explained on both occasions that the payment is to apply for an NIE (ticking the appropriate box on the Modelo 790) however, they have said I need an NIE in order to proceed. I've been back to the police station and been told they will not issue the NIE until I have paid SO.... I'm at a stand still with my application.
Does anyone on here have any advise or information on this process? I'm really keen to get this sorted so that I can start my new job (I cant start until I have an NIE and social security number - which I cant get until I have an NIE).
Thanks for any help you can offer!!!
