Ireland: Soon to be College Graduate looking to move:

What career are you looking to begin? In Ireland they only accept certain jobs for work permits. If yours is accepted you need to see if your qualifications are accepted in Ireland, and if so how you can transfer them. After that apply for jobs and the employer has to obtain a work permit for you. Look at citizensinformation.ie for more info. It can be a long process.

Ireland: 2nd mobile phone:

I use Verizon when I'm in Ireland. It's a small fee extra per month, but would eliminate having to change phone numbers so much. I believe it's called the international plan. Good luck.

Ireland: American doctor looking for advice about working in Ireland:

I am an MRI Tech trying to do the same thing. It is a very long process, even by Irish standards. Medical is considered "high demand" though. My regulating body is CORU. I had to fill out an application for them to recognize my degree. That was 6 months of leg work. Then they look it over-2 months time. They did not like 2 of my documents and I had a month to get them new ones. The next phase is to compare me against their standards. (4-6 months) I personally did not meet the requirements. I did not have a class on medical research. They gave me 2 options: I could take the class (in Dublin) or I can test out. I decided to test out. They have 6 months to give me a test date then I will have 1 month notice to be in Dublin on my test date. I am currently waiting on my date. Once registered you need to find an employer that is willing to pay for the work permit. I am told this is the hardest part. Maybe it will be easier for you. Good luck, I hope this helps.
