South Africa: Moving to Joburg - need advice:
Dear Future Sandton Expat
You have listed many valid questions which can all be answered in full as well as some unanswered questions, however, there is no quick reply to these questions.
I do not know who company is, but I would highly recommend Orientation and a day of 2 of Intercultural Training for you and your family moving to South Africa.
It is extremely useful in preparing you culturally and how to mange significant differences to help minimize any culture or transition shock you may suffer as well as to orientate you and your family to the community in which you will be living.
As a stand alone Relocation & Intercultural Company with expat experience of 20 years, I would love to support you.
If you company is interested in proving such support, please do not hesitate to contact me.
You may contact me directly at: expatk@yahoo.com
Best of Success,

Costa Rica: 9 years in Costa Rica:
Hello Raymond,
Lovely to read your post. I recently travelled to Costa Rica and absolutely loved it. I am South Africa, now working in Saudi Arabia and have lived and travelled in many countries.
As mentioned presently I am in Riydah where I am an Asst. Director at a university, but I am also a qualified Life Coach and coach internationally.
I plan not work in Saudi until Dec 2010 and then move to Costa Rica on a trial basis for 3 months at a time, when I can leave the country for visa purposes.
I have always been looking for a country or to place on this earth to live and start the next chapter in my life and I believe it may be Costa Rica.
I was hoping you could give me direction on which area would be good to start off in and mainly if you know of any opportunities for me to provide coaching services to the expat community. I saw and believe there is a gap in the market for that. I would love to even team up with holistic practitioners, massage therapists, Reiki Gurus etc. I love supporting and helping people overcome any challenge they may be experiencing or helping them move forward to reach a goal or dream of theirs.
Any information or contacts of people who are in the same field as what I do would be greatly appreciated
Pura Vida,
Kim
